We were initially given a room with two twin beds that ended up being across the hall from a very loud banquet room, complete with sound check. It was also missing some ceiling trim. We asked for and were given a new room, but paying four star prices, we expect better in the first place.
The breakfast buffet was notably good.

Safe place and very close to tourist spots. Staff are friendly, though you need to wake up early if you want to enjoy the buffet since they only have limited seats. And they don’t refill the food unless you get their attention.

Comfortable, spacious rooms on a quiet side street mere blocks away from the vibrant hum of the Old Quarter and 5 minute walk away from Hoan Kim Lake and the surrounding shops and sights. Located in a safe neighborhood, the helpful staff at this hotel make sure you lack for nothing. Highly recommend!

The location is good! Near Hồ Hoàn Kiếm (還劍湖）, it is about 10-15 mins walking. For the hotel, room is clean and looks decent even though it was developed in 1994. Just I think the air con shall be changed as the sound is too loud. Staff is helpful in general. I encountered problem with Grab outside the hotel and the staff came out for help. The restaurant at the hotel is also quite nice, we enjoyed a dinner there.

It's a great hotel with great location. Spacious and clean room, super king size double bed, great breakfast, great location ( in the case that you wish to be slightly away from the busy and noisy street ), friendly and helpful staffs. Worth for the value comparing to those in Old Quarters.

Loved the location. With 4 family members, wish there had been a door on the bathroom (there was a curtain), but the hotel was clean, service was excellent and breakfast was decent.

Hotel itself is very nice, but on a run down street. It’s 2 blocks from upscale shopping, the lake and the consulates but still felt off the path. Staff was professional but not friendly or service-minded. The bed was so hard, it was like sleeping on the floor.

We really enjoyed Thang Long Opera Hotel. The room was great, and the service was fantastic. They respond quickly to requests and seem to really care about their clients. Hotel is about 10-minute walk from the lake. The buffet breakfast was ok, but not great. That was the only point on which we thought they could improve.

Like: good service, location, nice hotel, breakfeast
Do not like: the 3 beds are too hard, bathroom has no door only curtain, no intimacy. Big construction in front of hotel, very noisy.
Suggestion: use Pearl Hotel instead
