We were asked on our first day to change 1 night to their sister hotel. But the sister hotel has white ants crawling over the tables and the air con is not working well, had to request for a fan in the end. Beforehand was promised to have some perks for the change of plan, but did not received any.

The staff were wonderful, very helpful in giving recommendations for places to visit and arranging tickets etc. room was clean, cool and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Kids loved the crepes! Walkable to the lake.

We stayed at the Golden Rooster Hotel for two nights either side of a trip to Ha Long Bay and had a lovely time. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel to those wishing to stay in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

Mitten in der Altstadt. Sehr gepflegtes Haus mit unterchiedlich großen, aber geschmackvoll eingerichteten Zimmer. Gutes Frühstück und perfektes Personal. Super freundlich, hilfsbereit. Das Hotel ist klein, aber man fühlt sich dort sofort wie zuhause. Jederzeit wieder und immer empfehlenswert. Dank auch und insbesondere an Lilly, die gute Fee am Emfang. Wir waren bei unerer Rundreise durch Vietnam 3 mal dort.

The room was lovely and the breakfast tasty. Great location in the edge of old town, which was perfect. We booked our Halong Bay your through the hotel—recommend doing it that way! But the absolute best part about the hotel is the staff. May, lily and Tim and everyone else were awesome. They are the heart of that place! They even helped us with taxi drivers who were trying to rip us off (which happened a lot). Thank you Golden Rooster staff!
Very good all around. I was neutral on the area because it is in the main tourist area which I found to be a bit hectic for the two weeks we booked.

Great location right in the middle of all the action. It's not too loud with honking in the morning because you're far enough away from the lake area. All the spots to see and visit are walkable, or if you're uncomfortable doing that on the crazy streets, there's a lot of options available. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Our room was the junior suite and it was very large and clean and had a balcony overlooking the street which was awesome for people watching. The airconditioning stayed on even when you left the room with the key. To me that was a huge plus coming back from a hot and sweaty day! Thanks Golden Rooster for a fantastic stay!

Il personale dell'hotel è stato fantastico. Hanno fatto il massimo per farci sentire a casa e accolti con calore. Sempre sorridenti. La struttura è piccola perché si trova in posizione centralissima rispetto alla città vecchia ma anche rispetto alle attrazioni esterne ad essa. Camere nuove spaziose e pulite. Colazione buona, scelta limitata ma un cuoco la prepara in base alla vostra scelta sul menu. Siamo rimasti 5 giorni e quando siamo partiti ci è dispiaciuto, ci è sembrato di lasciare degli amici.

Our room was upgraded on arrival and the hotel staff helped us book our other day and night trips for a good price. Would highly recommend anyone wanting to stay in old quarter - stay at the golden rooster. You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful new property that exceeded my expectations on all aspects. I did not try the restaurant so I cannot comment on that. But there are ample opportunities to find delicious and inexpensive food within minutes of the hotel. The staff are what put this place apart from the others. They are so willing to help for any requests and are gold mines of good information about Hanoi. I recommend the Golden Rooster whole-heartedly!

My family (my 5 years old daughter, my mom, my husband) booked 2 connected bedrooms on the top floor with a private balcony. We booked this in October for 7 nights with 470 USD. The night before our flight to Hanoi, the hotel emailed us at 9.30 pm and said the room had a problem and they would refund the money or book us another hotel with the same level. Given that it’s a few days before New Year, there was no way we could find another place so we asked them to book us another hotel. When we arrived around 7pm Hanoi time, one of the staff put me on a motorbike to see the hotel he booked for us. The first hotel he took me was decent but he told me the room only available for 1 night and I HAD TO PAY MORE MONEY because what I paid for my 7 nights at the Golden Rooster Hotel was TOO CHEAP. Then he took me to another nasty smelly cheap hotel and kept telling me to stay there for 7 nights. It was just a room with 2 big beds, I couldn’t imagine us 4 sharing a room so I said no. We got back the the golden rooster hotel and I begged for a room we were so tired it was almost 9pm, so they put us in a small tiny room for 4 of us. Lucky, I found out that the Somerset West Point Hanoi was available for 7 nights via Agoda. So I paid another 947 USD for my family to stay at the Somerset. The next morning, we asked to see our room we originally booked, they said no. One of the staff told us someone was already staying in the room. So it was clear that the hotel cancelled us for someone else
Excellent location. 3 star hotel but the staff especially Tim has provided 5 star service. He listen to what customer needs and always try his best to help.

Great location! Staff very attentive and helpful - they went above and beyond to assist with our needs from booking a bus to Sa Pa to assisting us with finding other hotels when they were full.
We had a variety of rooms over several stays, but all were clean and had comfortable beds. Good breakfast included in our stay. We would stay here again.

Zentral gelegen. Viele Restaurants, Cafes, Shops und Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuss erreichbar.
Sehr freundliches Personal, welches gut Englisch spricht.
Gutes Frühstück.
Decken im Zimmer sind sehr niedrig. Aber gut eingerichtet, sauber und gemütlich.

I was very pleasantly surprised with my stay here! My friends and I needed a place to stay since we had almost 8-10 hours before our flight, however I wish we would have booked this place for our whole trip! The rooms are very clean, spacious and the staff is SO helpful and friendly. They weren't able to book us in their spa, so the front desk rep found us a spa about a 10 minute walk away and even got us a discount! The spa they recommended was AWESOME. The family suite we booked ended up being two rooms next door to each other which was perfect for our group's size! If I ever visit Hanoi again, this will be the place I book!

Nice hotel near to lots of eateries and Dong Xuan Market. Room is very comfortable and spacious. We had the king size bedroom. Only thing is housekeeping is a bit loud and noisy and they start work at 8am. Imagine the disrupted sleeps.

Try to avoid rooms at level 5 and above as its ceiling is low and its room door security system appeared confusing. Not much selection for its breakfast buffet. Good option for a 2-star hotel stay.

Great hotel with fabulous staff. Hotel is in a good location in the old quarter of Hanoi. Stayed in the Junior Suite, room was big and had a small balcony. Nice bathroom. Would definitely recommend it.

Stayed at the Golden Rooster for my first/last night in Hanoi.
The positives. The location is amazing and walkable. The staff is kind. When I wasn’t feeling well my last night, May arranged food delivery for me.
The negatives. My first night I was booked on the seventh floor. The elevator goes to six. After climbing up a flight of stairs with low ceiling clearance I made it to my room. It was tiny. I had to move furniture to put my suitcase down flat on the ground. The bathroom was large, but I had to use a stool to reach the toilet. The room was adjacent to a generator that went on/off all night. Barely slept. My friend, who was also on the seventh floor, had the generator problem as well. After discussing our issues the next morning, the staff said if I were to book with them again they would provide a complimentary shuttle to the airport. They also said they would provide me a larger room with a desk, as I needed it for work.
My second night I arrived to the hotel I was booked in a slightly bigger room. This meant it was widened by a foot or so - I now had two nightstands but still no desk. I tried to reserve the shuttle for the AM and was told it was only offered if my friend and I were traveling together, not separate. Since this was not initially explained, I ended up getting the shuttle. Also, there was a window in the room, that opened to a wall, which had a bright light shining through it for half the night.
4.0 "Decent and quiet hotel from busy streets of Hanoi."
Location was great and a short distance from the old quarters thus it was quiet and convenient to move about.
