I find my entire short stay at the hotel very warm and memorable! Throughout the entire time we we're there, we had received services that were outstanding but truly genuine from all the staffs that we encountered from the Front desk manager Tam, to Khanh and another young lady at reception who went out of their ways to make us felt at home from simple thing like trying to get us the kind of tea I wanted to buy ! Restaurant staffs who served us dinner also were very attentive and helpful! The hotel has been newly renovated since we last stayed. It's Azerai now and for sure it has lived up to its name! The room design's still faithfully art deco as the entire historical building first built by the French! It's spacious and tastefully decorated! The food was excellent too ! I have nothing but praise for this hotel!
Outstanding stay!! The staff was above and beyond friendly, helpful, and professional. The Spa was very welcoming and had wonderful service. The Hotel looked great and room was fantastic. Highly recommend and I would definitely stay again.

Attractive colonial style property with well-tended grounds. Comfortable and spacious room. Good location on edge of Hue - 15 mins walk along river or £2 taxi. Some building work around hotel which can affect enjoyment of pool etc. Great staff and super customer service. Excellent restaurant recommendations

The property itself was lovely as was the staff.
We ran into a wedding reception that took over the pool area for two days.
We also had just come from a hotel in Hoi-An that just did everything as well but for 35% less.
We would still definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff are amazing. I became sick during the trip and one of the staff walked my husband to the pharmacy and helped him order medicine for me. Then sent complimentary ginger tea up to the room for me. They couldn’t have been more gracious and welcoming.

This was a marvellous choice of hotel in an excellent location by the Perfume River. Often had a drink - in this case a Singapore sling - in their stylish bar, a delight. Bedroom beautifully restored. The art deco design : I began to to expect David Suchet as Hercule Poirot to turn up. This was in total a real pleasure and I will go back, not least to savour the sights of Hue again. Sorry not to have tried the pool.
Great service and friendly people! Truly unique experience in great hotel. Highly recommend staying there.

Excellent location for exploring Hué. Stunning swimming pool beside the river - perfect for sunset. 5 star service at all times.

Un voyage dans le passe colonial. Magnifique bâtiment art deco. Les meubles qui décorent le hall, le bar et les chambres du bâtiment principal sont d’une grande beauté . Seul regret, il faut choisir entre vivre dans le batiment historique mais sans la vue sur le fleuve ou passer sur les annexes mais qui ont moins de charme. La gentillesse du personnel est a la hauteur du lieu.

Sehr nettes und professionelles Personal, sehr schoene Lage am Fluss, Ausgezeichentes Fruehstuecksbuffet, gute Drinks in der Bar, grosser Pool, toller Fitnessraum, komfortables Zimmer mit Balkon zum Park und alles in pures Art Deco Style.
Restaurant Direktor Arnaud sehr nett
Colonial luxury in spacious grounds. Definitely worth the price. Stylish old world rooms.

This is a fantastic hotel! One of the absolute best hotels we have stayed at. This was the second time we stayed here, and we had no doubts about it when going to Hué. The staff is incredibly nice and serviceminded. The hotel site is beautiful. The Food is of high quality. The location is Perfect - in the centre of Hue, by the river bank, looking at the imperial city on the other side of the river. Yes: It costs a lot, but if you can afford it, you should stay here.
Very well decorated and really helpful staff. A little out of the way.

Absolutely loved staying three nights at this wonderful hotel.
Staff is very friendly and service is impeccable.
Great atmosphere.
Organised a few private tours through the concierge and they were great.
Also the small boutiques carry original well selected objects of Vietnamese craftsmanship, not the usual ones you can pick up at more touristy markets.
If ever back in Hue I would stay here again.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and very service oriented. The concierge desk followed up to make sure the tour they booked for us went well. I would highly recommend La Residence when staying in Hue.

My husband and I loved the warm and friendly greeting we received upon arrival and the hotel is beautiful. The French design from the simplicity of the architecture to the furnishings is so relaxing to the outside pool which waits. The breakfast La Residence served was one of the best through our travels in Vietnam!

Stunningly refurbished guest rooms, splendid and serene location along the Perfume River, exquisite restaurant -- but above all, a fabulously thoughtful and supremely helpful staff that never missed a beat. You just can't find friendlier, better or more intuitive service than we found at the Azerai La Residence. Superb in every way!

Staffs were very kind. Not very fluent in English, but no problem at all in communication. I came to respect Vietnamese.
Truly great hotel with great service in the classical sense. The staff is extremely helpful. My wife was looking for a special fruit. The concierge had it in our room the next day. Check in was easy. The food is great. the restaurant staff is great. They made me the best Vietnamese iced coffee I had ever had. If you want to be spoiled and pampered, come to this hotel.

At the last minute we had to book into La Residence because our original hotel in Hue, The Moonlight, we found had a problem with rats in the air-conditioning vents in our room. So looking first a vermin free option we booked into this stunning hotel. Within the fifteen minutes it took us to book it and drive across town late at night they had prepared our sumptuous art Deco bedroom and were ready to greet us like long lost friends.
This is Hue's classiest and most stylish hotel. It's built in the French style and screams opulence and comfort. It has all the style and grace of a bygone era with all the modern conveniences you'd expect in a five star hotel. We loved our stay here and woukd go back in a shot.
Difficile trovare difetti, camera con terrazzo vista fiume notevolissima.

4.0 "Magnifique hôtel, en cours de rénovation"
Magnifique hôtel, style colonial, comfortable et bien situé. Service impeccable, avec toutefois la désagréable impression que le personnel pousse parfois un peu (trop) à la consommation.
Des travaux de rénovation ont un peu perturbé le séjour (bruits de marteau-piqueur au bord de la piscine, salle de gym installée provisoirement dans une salle de réunion, etc)... c’est malheureusement le prix à payer pour profiter d’un hôtel impeccable, et cela a été en partie compensé par quelques bons de consommation gratuite.
Cela reste malgré tout un établissement 5 étoiles, très soigné et très confortable... mais en raison des travaux (qui vont se poursuivre encore quelques semaines/mois) cela n’a malheureusement pas été un sans faute... avec un désagrément tout de même limité. A re-tester après les travaux (ce sera sans doute parfait) même s’il parait que les tarifs vont augmenter, suite au changement de propriétaire. Au tarif actuel, et sans les travaux, c’est un excellent hotel. Si les prix flambent, alors il faudra surveiller la concurrence...

Vi hadde et behagalig og avslappende opphold fra innsjekk til utsjekk, såpass bra er dette hotellet at vi bestemte oss for å forlenge oppholdet. Dette er et meget vakkert og velholdt hotel med historisk sus. Hotellet er innredet ned til minste detalj i artdeco stil. Det er meget gjennomført og fremhever hotellets historie fra den franske kolonitiden, samtidig som alt er oppdatert og moderne. Vi spiste middag to ganger på restauranten, og alt var laget av de beste råvarene, og servicen var på ypperste nivå. De ansatte på hotellet strekker seg langt for å gjøre oppholdet så bra som mulig. De legger merke til preferansene dine og husker det neste gang de ser deg. Vi hadde rom mot med nydelig utsikt mot elven, hvor vi kunne nyte spekatakulære solnedganger og livet på elven fra våe egen terasse. Bassenget er stort og vannet har en behagelig temperatur, gode solsenger og hyggelig betejening på området. Vi prøvde ikke spa avdelingen denne gangen, men vil definitivt gjøre det ved neste opphold. Alt i alt et fantastisk minneverdig opphold og vi gleder oss til et gjensyn. Anbefales på det sterkeste!

You could not use the pool due to bulldozers 2 m away and drilling. Literally could not have a conversation without shouting and when it’s 40 degrees heat you need to cool down by the pool .
The hotel should of notified us to the extent of how bad the noise was, unfortunately, they told us it was minimal. The staff were very nice.

5.0 "What a gorgeous, colonial style hotel!"
A wonderful hotel that was a total pleasure to stay at. Despite being under renovation when we stayed, every effort was made to make our stay perfect. We were barely aware of the work going on and not disturbed at all. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful and efficient. They arranged a perfect sightseeing trip for us and went out of their way to ensure we had a fabulous time.
And we have to mention the restaurant- oh the food! We were in raptures! And as an awkward vegetarian I felt very spoilt by the quality and choice. The restaurant staff deserve a special mention too!
We cannot recommend this hotel enough -it’s bliss to stay there.
