Jetstar says will service more domestic flights for Tet

Jetstar says will service more domestic flights for Tet

Vietnam’s low-cost airline Jetstar Pacific has announced that it will increase flight frequency between Hanoi and HCMC next month to meet soaring air travel demand on the key route during Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, which falls on January 26.

From January 8, Jetstar Pacific will add three daily services to the HCMC-Hanoi schedule, bringing the total number of daily return flights on the route to 10, or a 40% increase in seating capacity between the two biggest cities of Vietnam.

“As a result of our increased capacity, Jetstar Pacific will offer an additional 30,240 seats on the flights between Hanoi and HCMC during the Lunar New Year period,” said Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, chief commercial officer of Jetstar Pacific.

Binh said in a statement on Tuesday that Jetstar Pacific would service additional flights to allow more people to fly during the peak days before and after Lunar New Year’s Day.

Jetstar Pacific will continue operating triple daily services between HCMC and Danang, as well as daily flights between here and Vinh and Haiphong, and between Hanoi and Nha Trang and Danang.

Jetstar Pacific has resumed a daily service between HCMC and Hue since December 5 after about five months of suspension, boosting its air service coverage to seven major cities in Vietnam.

Binh said the increased services to some of Vietnam’s most popular destinations would benefit local travelers over the busy Tet period.

“Travel trends across Vietnam are showing that more passengers are now planning and booking their flights for the Tet holidays,” Binh said.

She added more passengers preferred making their plans earlier than they used to do in the past, and that this made it easier for them to book the lowest every day fares available at www.Jetstar.com.

Earlier, Vietnam Airlines unveiled plans to operate nearly 840 more flights between Hanoi and HCMC, and HCMC and Danang from January 10 to February 9 in response to the surging air travel demand in the festive season.
