Yasaka Saigon Nha Trang Resort & Spa has won the award for Vietnam’s the most impressive service hotel while Sasco Tourist Service Centre was named the most reliable travel agent in a two-months-long poll by Vietnam Tourism Association and www.vietnamtourism.com.vn, one of the most popular the news website on tourism in Vietnam.

Mr. Pham Hung Phong, editor-in-chef of the news website www.vietnamtourism.com.vn, will present prizes to the representatives of Yaska and Sasco during the Top Ten hotels and Travel agents in 2007 award ceremony hosted by Vietnam Tourism Association on 5 July 2008 at Sofitel Plaza Hanoi.

The poll which engaged both domestic and foreign tourists was the first ever its kind. During the first phase of the voting (from 15 April to 20 May 2008), around 40.000 ballots were given out to travellers in popular tourist sites such as: Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, History Museum, War Evidence Museum (HCMC), Noi Bai International Airport, Tan Son Nhat International Airport and some hotels and travel agents. In addition, the organiser also received over 1000 phone calls via the hotline: 1900 5858 06.

The first phase found out top ten hotels: Grand Hotel, Ben Thanh- Rex, Caravelle (Ho Chi Minh City), Horison Hotel, Sofitel Metropole, Melia (Hanoi), Vinpearl Resort and Spa, Yasaka Saigon Nha Trang (Nha Trang); Furama Resort – Danang and Palm Garden Resort-Hoi An. 

Top ten travel agents included: Ben Thanh Tourist, Viet Nam Tourist (branch Hanoi), Fiditour, Hanoi Tourist, Ho Guom Diethlm, Huong Giang Tourist, Hoa Binh Peace Tours, Saigon Tourist, Sasco Tourist Service Centre and Vido Tour.

From 1 June 2008 till late,  the voting on the website www.vietnamtourism.com.vn was conducted to find out the highest voted hotel and travel agent.
